Description

Aghmat, located near Marrakechin Morocco, was the capital of the Almoravid Dynasty during the 11th century CE. Once a thriving city, Aghmat played a pivotal role in the rise of the Almoravid Empire. Now, the site is known for its ruins, which are largely preserved in the desert landscape, offering visitors a glimpse of ancient Moroccan civilization.

Modern Remains

Modern visitors can explore the ruins of Aghmat, which include remnants of ancient walls, gateways, and the foundation of an old mosque.
