Ujjain, located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) of Hinduism. It was the capital of the ancient Avanti kingdom from around 700 BCE to 300 BCE. Known for its spiritual significance and historical importance, Ujjain is a major pilgrimage site today. Modern Remains

Modern Ujjain still retains much of its ancient charm.
