Today, Phitsanulok retains many historical and religious landmarks. The Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat houses the revered Phra Buddha Chinnarat image, one of the most beautiful Buddha statues in Thailand. The Naresuan Shrine honors the legacy of the great king. While much of the ancient city was damaged by wars and floods, ongoing archaeological efforts and restorations help preserve its cultural heritage, making it a significant historical destination in Thailand.
