Modern Remains

Today, Stari Bar (Old Bar) preserves medieval ruins, including fortifications, churches, and an aqueduct. The Bar Fortress, built by Byzantines and expanded by Venetians and Ottomans, offers stunning views. The nearby King Nikola’s Palace and one of Europe’s oldest olive trees (over 2,000 years old) highlight the city's diverse heritage. The modern city of Bar thrives as a key Adriatic port.
