Description
Mysore was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore, located in southern India. The kingdom, ruled by the Wadiyar dynasty and later by the famous warrior king Tipu Sultan, became one of the most prominent and powerful states in India from the 16th century until its annexation by the British in 1799.

Today, the city of Mysore is a major cultural and historical center.
