Modern Remains

The ruins of Mari are located near the modern town of Tell Hariri in Syria. Excavations have uncovered palaces, temples, statues, and archives, especially the grand palace of Zimri-Lim. While the site has been affected by modern conflict, many artifacts are preserved in museums, providing invaluable insight into early urban civilization in Mesopotamia.
