Description

Fort Jameson, now known as Chipata, was established in the early 20th century as a colonial outpost in North-Eastern Rhodesia (modern-day Zambia). Located near the border with Malawi, it served as a key administrative and military station for the British South Africa Company.

Modern Remains

Today, Chipata is a growing regional city and the capital of Zambia's Eastern Province. While colonial architecture and town planning traces remain, the city has evolved into a vibrant commercial and cultural center.
