Description

Ebrauc, now known as York, is an ancient city in northern England that dates back to Roman and pre-Roman times. It was a prominent settlement in Roman Britain and later became the capital of the Kingdom of Northumbria during the early medieval period. The city holds a significant place in British history, with its impressive Roman walls, Viking heritage, and medieval structures still visible today.

Modern Remains

Modern remains of Ebrauc can be found in the city of York, where the Roman walls are still largely intact. The York Minster, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe, stands on the site of a former Roman fortress. Other notable remains include Viking artifacts in the Jorvik Viking Centre, remnants of medieval city gates, and archaeological sites reflecting the city's rich Roman, Viking, and medieval past.
