Description

Rabdentse Ruins are located in the west of Sikkim, near Pelliling village, surrounded by dense forests and breathtaking mountain views. It was the second capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim after Yuksom. The site offers a glimpse into the architecture and culture of ancient Sikkim. The ruinsare perched on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga range.

Modern Remains

The Rabdentse Ruins are now a significant tourist attraction and part of the Khangchendzonga National Park. The main structures include the remains of palaces, temples, and fortifications. The Rabdentse Monastery and the main staircase leading to the ruins are notable highlights. Visitors can enjoy a scenic trek to the site, passing through lush forests, with views of the Khangchendzonga peaks.
