Description
Tosali, located in modern-day Odisha, India, was the capital of the ancient Kalinga Kingdom. Known for its strategic location near the Mahanadi River, Tosali played a central role in Kalinga’s political, military, and cultural activities. The kingdom, under the rule of Emperor Kharavela, flourished during the 3rd century BCE–1st century CE. Today, Tosali’s historical sites are part of the rich heritage of the region.
