Description

Modern Remains
Today, Merv is home to several remarkable archaeological sites, including the Kyz Kala (a fortified structure), Gyaur Kala(an ancient city), and the Tomb of Sultan Sanjar. The Merv Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers visitors a glimpse into the city’s grandeur, with ruins of ancient mosques, palaces, and fortifications. The Great Kyz Kalaand the Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar are also notable landmarks that reflect the region's historical significance.
