Description

Caerwent, located in southeastern Wales, was a significant Roman town later incorporated into the Kingdom of Gwent during the early medieval period. Its strong Roman foundations made it a center of settlement and administration.

Modern Remains

Caerwent is one of the best-preserved Roman sites in Britain. Extensive Roman walls, mosaics, and building foundations are visible today. Archaeological finds from both Roman and post-Roman periods illustrate its continued occupation and influence during the era of the Kingdom of Gwent.
